This year’s Annual General Meeting was held at South Forest IBC on Wednesday, 5th April.
All member counties were represented by their delegates and in addition Arthur Broadberry (EIBA) was present as a guest of Nottinghamshire IBA.
The main points from the business were:
- The election of officers: Richard White (Lincolnshire) retired after his year of office, His successor Tom Jagger (Nottinghamshire) thanked him for his work over the last year. All other officers were re-elected.
- Correspondence resulting from the loss of EIBA membership of Derbyshire IBA was considered. Derbyshire are currently not members of the MSIBL. However it is working to meet EIBA requirements in the future and is keen to rejoin MSIBL. The MSIBL Secretary, Brian Slinn, was instructed to advise Neville Cave that MSIBL would welcome an application to re-join the League when the County Asociation has been accepted by EIBA.
- The Meeting considered a proposal from Tom Jagger (Chair) that the Hon Secretary should receive a Honorarium. It was agreed unanimously and the amount fixed at £50.00
- The Championship Trophy, the South Forest Cup, was presented by outgoing President, Richard White, to Durham 2017 league winners.
The Meeting closed and after a short lunch break a bowls match involving two rinks from each county was held. This was 18 ends or 2.45hrs. The winning county was Yorkshire.
Afterwards was a dinner and raffle.
